Job overview
HIS are seeking to recruit a passionate and dedicated English teacher to work within our Inclusion Support Team. This role is designed to strengthen the English Department s capacity to meet the needs of all learners by ensuring that Students of Determination and English Language Learners receive targeted, high-quality support. Through carefully scaffolded lessons, the postholder will enable every student to make meaningful progress from their individual starting points.

Role Overview:
This role is designed to strengthen the English Department s capacity to meet the needs of all learners by ensuring that Students of Determination and English Language Learners receive targeted, high-quality support. Through carefully scaffolded lessons, the postholder will enable every student to make meaningful progress from their individual starting points.

The successful applicant will:
Be a passionate and reflective educator who models inclusive practice.
Lead engaging and differentiated English lessons across the secondary school, with a particular focus on supporting our most vulnerable learners.
Collaborate closely with the English and Inclusion Departments to ensure consistency in pedagogical approaches and intervention strategies.
Apply effective scaffolding, personalisation and adaptive teaching techniques to remove barriers to learning.
Use assessment information and data analysis to inform planning and monitor progress.
Liaise regularly with parents, teachers and the Head of Inclusion to ensure coherent, purposeful provision and strong home school partnerships
Act as a visible advocate for inclusive education across the school community.

Education and Experience:
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) in Secondary English.
Minimum of two years teaching experience, ideally within a British-curriculum setting.
Proven experience of working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Training or experience in EAL strategies would be an advantage
Experience in working with the Pearson Edexcel iGCSE qualification would be desirable.
