Roles & Responsibilities

To make a significant contribution to the development of the ICT Department by delivering outstanding teaching and learning, while supporting students to achieve their full potential in a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan, prepare and deliver well-structured ICT lessons aligned with curriculum objectives.
  • Teach a wide range of ICT skills, including coding, digital media, online safety, data handling and hardware/software knowledge.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies and digital tools to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
  • Assess, record and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of students of all abilities and learning styles.
  • Maintain a positive, orderly and supportive learning environment.

Curriculum

  • Deliver a broad, balanced and relevant ICT curriculum.
  • Contribute to the planning and development of schemes of work, teaching resources and assessments.
  • Ensure lessons are creative, well-planned and inclusive.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge across ICT and Computing.
  • Set ambitious goals and use a range of resources and technologies to support learning.
  • Follow school procedures for assessment, recording and reporting.
  • Provide regular, high-quality feedback to support pupil progress.
  • Participate fully in extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in ICT, Computer Science or a closely related subject. (E)
  • UK PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.(E)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).(E)
  • Minimum of three years successful ICT teaching experience.(E)
  • Excellent working knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, including BTEC.(E)
  • Strong academic background and professional credibility.(E)
  • Commitment to academic progress, pupil welfare and safeguarding.(E)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of educational developments and best practice.(E)
  • Experience working within a UK independent or international school environment. (D)
  • Experience teaching students with English as an Additional Language (EAL). (D)
