Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
• Develop and manage the strategic planning and execution of maintenance & cleaning activities for labour camps ensuring a safe, hygienic, and well-maintained living environment.
• Manage cleaning operations for the yard and administrative buildings, maintaining cleanliness across all shared facilities.
• Manage employee transport and canteen services.
• Review and interpret all contracts under the Employee Welfare - Shared Services Department to ensure proper application across relevant service areas. Prepare and submit daily and weekly work progress reports to monitor relevant operational performance.
• Manage costs related to cleaning and maintenance activities in the camps, as well as cleaning operations in the yard, including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting. Lead, mentor and support the Employee Welfare team to achieve departmental objectives and ensure service excellence.
• Conduct regular inspections and supervise ongoing maintenance and cleaning operations in the relevant areas to ensure quality and compliance.
• . Ensure adherence to safe working practices and promote a strong safety culture across all service areas.
• To ensure an acceptable standard of Quality, Environmental, OHSAS and Security Management System is maintained in accordance with recognized working practices and the Company’s QEHS&S Manual and Policy within the Shared Services work areas.
• Supervise and manage daily cleaning & maintenance operations in the camps as well as cleaning operations in the yard and admin buildings.
• Ensure that camp and other leased accommodation for Company staff is always maintained in a clean, safe and acceptable condition.
• Conduct regular inspections of camp accommodations, canteen facilities, and transportation services to ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, service reliability, and maintenance standards.Prepare detailed inspection reports highlighting key findings, recommended corrective actions, and timelines for resolution; ensure timely follow-up and closure of identified issues.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to address maintenance and cleaning issues promptly and effectively.
• Implement and monitor power and water saving initiatives across all facilities; ensure best practices are followed and corrective measures are applied to reduce utility consumption and promote sustainability.
• Report any major repair needs, alteration or renovation requirements to the Technical Service for evaluation and management approval.
• Develop and maintain a Master Zoning Plan for all labour camps and shared facilities, identifying key issues, risk areas, and recommended actions to support long-term planning and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and manage costs related to cleaning and maintenance activities, including budget preparation, tracking, and reporting.
• Manage canteen operations to ensure food quality, hygiene, and service standards are consistently met; coordinate with catering providers to address feedback and implement improvements.
• Conduct a minimum of two catering satisfaction surveys per year to assess service quality and identify areas for enhancement.
• Manage staff transportation services, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient movement of employees; monitor contractor performance and resolve service-related issues.
• Procurement of elementary items for repairs/maintenance, from local market, within approved Financial Limits.
• Prepare yearly operation and capital budget for the welfare section.
• Periodic review of Budget Vs Actual reports.
• Conduct team meetings to review and update daily operations requirements.
• Attend weekly department meetings.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management/ civil/ mechanical engineering or relevant education / experience.
• 5 years in similar capacity with large industrial concern with its own housing facilities, employing large number of multinational workforce.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Planning, organizing and delegating tasks
• Proactive Leadership Skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and Microsoft Office products, primarily the use of word, excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Flexible and adaptable; able to respond to change.
