Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

To provide high-quality education and care for children in their early teens; to fulfill legal and statutory requirements; to plan and implement the relevant Key Stage curriculum. Additionally, to establish and maintain a record-keeping system that effectively monitors each child s progress; and to contribute to and implement school policies.

Children enjoy high-quality indoor and outdoor learning environments and a broad, balanced curriculum. The academy offers individualised education within a nurturing setting, providing strong academic and therapeutic support. Central to the school s ethos is the belief that fostering a positive self-image is crucial for a child s full potential and this school is dedicated to creating an environment where every child can succeed.

  • Liaise closely with the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapists so that both therapist and special provision can adopt an informed and holistic approach teacher where cognisance is taken of all the education needs of the pupils
  • Write and implement the IEPs so that each pupil has the chance to develop his or her potential to the full
  • Develop a close liaison with parents, particularly in relation to homework, organisation and management strategies
  • Lead a class for the BTEC, IGCSE, NCFE and ASDAN programmes (where appropriate), with appropriate planning and communication to the class team
