Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced academic advising to students, guiding them through complex curriculum choices, academic challenges, and career planning, offering personalized support for their success.
- Conduct in-depth student needs assessments, identifying specific academic, social, and emotional needs to tailor counseling approaches and support services effectively.
- Develop and deliver specialized workshops and presentations on topics like advanced study skills, graduate school preparation, and navigating complex university policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage a caseload of students, monitoring their academic progress, intervening proactively when necessary, and facilitating connections with relevant campus resources.
Desired Candidate Profile
Possess a Master's degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in academic advising principles.
Hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in academic counseling or a related role, showcasing a proven track record of student support and program management.
Demonstrate prior experience with international students, showcasing a proven track record of student support and program management.
A valid license or certification in counseling or a related field (e.g., LPC, LMFT) is highly desirable, indicating a commitment to professional standards.
