Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial reporting and budgeting processes. This role also involves supervising junior accounting staff, managing audits, and contributing to strategic financial planning.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile the general ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to the management.
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
- Support tax preparation and filing activities (VAT/Corporate Tax)
- Mentor and supervise junior accountants or accounting assistants.
- Improve accounting processes and systems for better efficiency and accuracy.

Who you are
You are detail-oriented, analytical, and organized, with a strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial systems. You are also a reliable partner to leadership, providing clear financial guidance and ensuring the integrity of the company's financial information.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (English; Arabic a plus)
- Accurate in spotting financial inconsistencies
- Team leadership, training, and departmental oversight
- Ethical, proactive, and deadline-drivenSkilled in multitasking and independent work
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or CA preferred).
- 2-5 years' accounting experience in UAE, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Experience in managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or similar systems) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and tax compliance.
- Familiarity with UAE-based financial regulations and compliance requirements.
