Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct daily operations ensuring that work processes are optimally delivered Provide management information and insights on all dimensions of work area performance to facilitate discussion and decision making, both on a periodic basis and for ad-hoc management requests Verify that all account receivable invoices are recorded and documented accurately and in compliance with existing accounting standards Ensure regular follow up with customers for outstanding collections Review Aging reports for customers for each category of revenue on a monthly basis and ensure that they correspond with the Trial Balance. Ensure that the cash collection system is optimized by performing variance analysis to detect deviations and unusual operations for accounts receivable, and recommend improvements Perform selective quarterly and year end customer receivables balances confirmation Ensue that regular follow up with departments having fixed assets (FA) that are in still in clearing accounts in order to capitalize them. Close and reconcile Fixed Assets, including providing regular reports in order to ensure that balances on financial statements are accurate and in compliance with the defined regulatory standards Review physical verification against GRP reports Coordinate with GRP teams for any technical problems related to FA/AR Reconcile FA/ AR modules on monthly basis Draft, implement and continuously improve policies, standards and processes in order to optimize performance and resource utilization Prepare and present periodic and ad-hoc reports that reflect audit results, acting as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and achievement of goals Provide concrete recommendations for improvement using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed and submit overall recommendations to management Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved during the course of the year Take ownership of his/her own learning agenda by identifying development needs and address these gaps with an individual development plan, detailing the appropriate actions to be taken, in consultation with the reporting manager Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role Keep abreast of relevant professional/industry developments, new techniques and current topics through continued education and professional networks Follow all relevant Department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner Contribute to the optimization of policies, processes and procedures emphasizing digitization and paperless strategies Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent Professional certification in Finance such as ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) or equivalent preferred 4 years of relevant experience in Auditing, Accounting and Reporting UAE experience with government / semi-government organizations and/or multinational companies is preferred Experience with implementing accounting rules and policies Understanding of international accounting standards e.g. IFRS , IPSAS Ability to perform root cause analysis and scenario analysis Advanced Excel and other analytical tools Working knowledge of ERP systems Fluent written and spoken English essential, Arabic preferred
