Senior Accountant

Job Purpose:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and external regulations. This role also supports budgeting, audits, and financial analysis while guiding junior accountants.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including A/R, A/P, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.


Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.


Monitor and ensure accurate recording of revenues, expenses, and assets.


Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.


Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations; prepare and file VAT, NSSF, and income tax declarations.


Support the external audit process by providing required documentation and explanations.


Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.


Supervise and support junior accountants and ensure proper delegation of tasks.


Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.


Liaise with banks, auditors, suppliers, and other stakeholders when needed.


Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or Master s degree is a plus).


Minimum of 4 6 years of progressive experience in accounting.


Solid knowledge of accounting standards and Lebanese tax regulations.


Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.


Strong analytical and organizational skills.


Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.


Ability to work independently and handle multiple deadlines.
