Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with proven experience in the construction industry in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, project cost control, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local regulations, including Bahrain VAT (if applicable), Bahrain,Bahrain labor laws, and contract accounting standards (such as percentage-of-completion).

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations.
• Handle journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and closing processes.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely invoicing and collections.

Construction Project Accounting

• Monitor and track project costs, budgets, and expenditures.
• Prepare project profitability reports and support project managers with financial insights.
• Apply percentage of completion (POC) method and track work in progress (WIP) schedules.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with Kuwaiti tax regulations, including Zakat, VAT (if implemented), and corporate tax laws.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
• Maintain accurate records for inspection by internal/external auditors or government authorities.

Cash Flow & Treasury

• Monitor daily cash flow and manage fund transfers between project sites and head office.
• Coordinate with banks for guarantees, LCs, and project-specific financing requirements.

Team Support & Process Improvement

• Support junior accountants and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
• Contribute to ERP implementation or optimization (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or local systems).
• Continuously improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
