Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process invoices in a timely manner

  • Follow up on pending invoice approvals

  • Prepare weekly payment selections and check runs as per agreed payment terms

  • Collect and organize all required documentation for payment releases

  • Maintain and update accounting records related to notices to owners, lien waivers, and sworn statements of account

  • Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding Accounts Payable

  • Review and process project-related customer billings

  • Coordinate with project teams on outstanding contract billings

  • Record and post cash receipts

  • Prepare and post journal entries

  • Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts; prepare month-end workpapers

  • Prepare monthly financial statements with variance analysis (e.g., budget vs. actual, current vs. prior periods)

  • Reconcile credit card transactions

  • Compile and organize information for internal and external audits

  • Ensure compliance with SOX guidelines, maintaining appropriate controls and segregation of duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Construction Accounting, including job costing, work-in-progress schedules, and percentage-of-completion accounting

CPA or Chartered Accountant qualification preferred

Prior Big 4 firm experience, especially if relevant to the construction industry (e.g., audit of construction clients, project-based accounting, etc.)

Familiarity with Oracle, Viewpoint Vista, pVault, and/or Procore

Understanding of Middle East local labor laws and regulations

Familiarity with IFRS and U.S. GAAP

Experience handling intercompany transactions and multi-entity accounting

Strong knowledge of contract billing and change order processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in billing and reconciliation scenarios

Fluency in both Arabic and English

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent qualification
