Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Maintain full and accurate books of accounts for the sales office in line with IFRS / local GAAP and company policies.
• Review daily sales invoices, returns, and credit notes from sales operations.
• Prepare and submit weekly, and monthly financial reports including sales, collections, expenses, and stock positions.
• Post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accurate monthly closing.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure alignment with Head Office records.
2. Sales & Receivables Management
• Review and verify sales invoices, discount approvals, and promotional expense claims.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances (A/R) and follow up with the sales team for overdue collections.
• Reconcile customer accounts and ensure proper posting of receipts and adjustments.
• Manage cash, cheque, and credit transactions and ensure daily deposit of collections into the bank.
• Support credit control by reviewing credit limits and coordinating with Head Office
Finance.
3. Inventory & Cost Control
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate recording of goods received, dispatches, transfers, and returns.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconcile with ERP records.
• Investigate and report stock variances, damages, expiries, and write-offs.
• Assist in inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting during monthly
closing.
• Verify accuracy of promotional goods and free samples accounting.
4. Cash, Banking & Expense Management
• Oversee petty cash operations, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Review all expense claims and ensure compliance with company policy.
• Prepare and reconcile bank statements, ensuring all receipts and payments are recorded timely.
• Maintain records for post-dated cheques, security deposits, and advances.
5. Month-End Closing & Reporting
• Ensure timely month-end closing and submission of financials to Head Office.
• Prepare schedules for sales, receivables, payables, inventory, and expense accruals.
• Assist in preparation of branch-level P&L and variance analysis versus budget.
• Support external and internal audits by providing all necessary documents and reconciliations.
6. Compliance & Internal Controls
• Enforce company financial controls and ensure adherence to corporate accounting
policies.
• Support accurate and timely VAT / tax compliance and filings.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen financial discipline.
• Ensure safekeeping of financial documents, invoices, and supporting records.
7. Coordination & Business Support
• Act as the finance business partner for the sales office.
• Liaise with Sales, Supply Chain, HR, and Head Office Finance for coordination on operational and financial matters.
• Provide analytical support to management regarding sales performance, margins, and expense trends.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting exercises for the sales office.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in FMCG or trading/distribution
- Driving license required
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems, ensuring technical competency.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Qatar tax regulations, ensuring compliance and accurate financial reporting.
