Roles & Responsibilities

CCB is searching for a Senior Advisor Asset Management for MDO to support the development and implementation of a best-in-class asset management framework across its portfolio of mining, processing, and downstream assets.

The Advisor will work closely with MDO leadership to:

  • Establish a structured asset management function
  • Enhance asset-level performance and value creation
  • Implement portfolio-wide governance, reporting, and capital allocation frameworks

The role is hands-on and execution-focused, with a mandate to deliver practical, implementation-ready outputs.

1.Asset Management Framework Development

  • Design and implement a comprehensive asset management framework covering:
    • Asset segmentation (core / growth / cash / divest)
    • Asset lifecycle management
    • Governance and decision rights
  • Develop standard operating procedures for asset oversight

2. Portfolio Strategy & Capital Allocation

  • Develop a capital allocation framework, including:
    • Investment prioritization
    • Dividend vs reinvestment decisions
    • Exit / divestment criteria
  • Support MDO in optimizing portfolio returns and capital deployment

3. Performance Management & Reporting

  • Design and implement a standardized reporting system, including:
    • Monthly asset performance dashboards
    • Portfolio-level performance reports
    • Board and Investment Committee reporting packs
  • Define a KPI library for mining and manufacturing assets

4. Asset Review & Value Creation

  • Establish and support an Asset Review Committee (ARC)
  • Identify and drive value creation initiatives, including:
    • Cost optimization
    • Operational improvement
    • Expansion strategies
    • JV restructuring

5. Governance & JV Oversight

  • Define clear governance structures and decision rights
  • Strengthen the role of MDO Board representatives
  • Establish effective information flow between assets and MDO

6. Implementation & Capability Building

  • Lead the implementation of the asset management framework
  • Conduct training sessions for:
    • Asset teams
    • MDO leadership
    • Board representatives
  • Support building an internal Asset Management function

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience:

  • 15+ years in:
    • Mining, metals, or industrial sectors
    • Asset management, portfolio management, or operations
  • Experience in:
    • Multi-asset portfolios
    • Capital allocation and investment decisions
    • Operational performance improvement

Preferred Background:

  • Senior roles in:
    • Global mining companies (e.g., Rio Tinto, BHP, Glencore)
    • Infrastructure / private equity firms (e.g., Brookfield, Macquarie)
    • Sovereign investment platforms

Skills:

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Deep understanding of mining value chains
  • Experience in governance and JV structures
  • Ability to translate strategy into practical execution
