Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Corporate Finance & Development Associate / Senior Associate supports the Group s strategic finance agenda by driving rigorous analysis across business units to optimize capital deployment and enhance portfolio returns. The role combines financial acumen, strategic insight, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that every investment decision whether organic, inorganic, or structural creates long-term value and aligns with the Group s strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Portfolio Performance & Capital Allocation
    • Conduct deep-dive performance reviews across the Group s retail, distribution, and brand portfolio to assess profitability, capital efficiency (ROIC), and growth trajectories.
    • Support the calculation of WACC, ROIC, and economic profit at Group and business-unit levels to guide investment decisions.
    • Build and maintain portfolio dashboards tracking financial KPIs, returns, and value creation across brands.
  2. Financial Modelling & Investment Analysis
    • Build detailed investment appraisal models (DCF, IRR, payback, scenario analysis) for new store openings, brand expansions, or strategic projects.
    • Support the review and validation of business cases submitted by business units, ensuring alignment with Group hurdle rates and capital efficiency benchmarks.
    • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess risk-adjusted returns and propose mitigation measures.
    • Partner with Group Finance, Commercial and Strategy teams to align model assumptions with actual financial performance.

    3. Strategic Planning & Forecasting

    • Support the 3-Year Strategic Plan and annual budgeting cycles by providing analytical inputs on investment priorities, cash flow projections, and capital allocation.
    • Translate strategic ambitions into financial roadmaps, quantifying the impact of new initiatives on Group value creation.
    • Participate in scenario planning exercises to stress-test the portfolio under different macroeconomic or operational assumptions.
  3. Capital Allocation & Capital Structuring
    • Contribute to Group-level analysis of capital structure, leverage, and cost of capital optimization.
    • Support the development and maintenance of the Group s capital allocation framework to ensure investments are prioritized based on value creation potential, risk, and strategic fit.
  4. Strategic & Ad-Hoc Projects
    • Support M&A, divestment, and joint venture evaluations, preparing financial models and due diligence summaries.
    • Collaborate with Business Development teams on market entry feasibility studies and brand expansion business cases.
    • Prepare presentation materials for ExCom, CFO, and Board discussions, distilling complex analyses into clear, decision-ready insights.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting; Master s degree or MBA is a plus. 1-7 years of experience in Corporate Finance, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting, ideally within a large conglomerate or consumer/retail group.

  • Proven experience in financial modelling, valuation, portfolio analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, WACC, ROIC, and value creation frameworks.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; working knowledge with SAP, Power BI and/ or Looker and building related dashboards is a strong advantage.
