Roles & Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Bank Control Services Specialist at Azadea's Business Services is responsible for providing comprehensive professional accounting services and monitoring the activities of the bank control unit to deliver an effective and efficient end-to-end service to the group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the maintenance of cash and bank accounts, ensuring adequate funds to cover financial obligations and timely validation, signing, and release of payments to suppliers.
- Reconcile cash and bank/loan ledgers, validate and accurately record bank charges in the proper ledger accounts, and properly maintain LGs/LCs and SBLCs. Enforce and respect KPIs to ensure the availability and accuracy of information.
- Ensure compliance with cut-off dates, closes general ledger accounts, and adjust according to the established period-end calendar.
- Reconcile cash and bank accounts, release payments to vendors on time, and ensure the accurate treatment of VAT and withholding tax in accordance with country regulations.
- Continuously update the accounting manual to keep the team informed of changes in regulations and accounting classifications for expenses.
- Validate, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial data (banks, loans, charges, FOREX, etc.) by investigating and rectifying routine errors and anomalies in input data. Maintain clean and reconciled bank and loan accounts to keep the company continuously aware of its financial position and produce statutory reports within legislative time limits.
- Generate reports from statistical and functional metrics related to spending volume and nature, covenant ratios, financial obligations, cash position, and charges. Ensure these reports are produced according to stated schedules so all information is available for review in a timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits, consistently providing accurate and timely information.
- Deliver and maintain a high level of customer service, ensuring internal customers are satisfied by meeting all internal SLAs and promptly addressing requests.
Desired Candidate Profile
LANGUAGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
Language Skills
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in MS Office.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Four to six years of experience in a similar role.
