Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Effectively participate in the Stop Observe Act Report (SOAR) program and encourage active participation.

Assist or direct the review and/or approval of any HSE related or other relevant documentation impacting his/her area of responsibility.

Responsible and accountable for HSE compliance within their area of responsibility, including communication and implementation of such policies and procedures; demonstrate management s commitment to health, safety, and environmental protection.

Monitor weather conditions, rig elevation and position.

Ensure lifting equipment is maintained and inspected, and that all lifting equipment is safe for use and color coded; maintain an up to date register of equipment and follow quarantine procedures.

Ensure that lifting and rigging operations, supply boat, and deck lifts are controlled and carried out safely.

Ensure that lift plans, risk assessments, and procedures are strictly followed and comply with company policies and procedures.

Ensure loading and transfer of fuel oil, base oil, OBM, SBM, brines, and bulk material follow procedures and within the operational limitations; maintain the bulk system ready for use.

Ensure adequate levels of required bulk materials are maintained onboard and do not drop below mandated levels as required by the Rig Management System.

Prepare all stability calculations, preload calculations, and carry out rig move procedures as per

the Rig Operations Manual and the requirements of the ARO Marine Department.

Capable of jacking the rig from the jacking console within the parameters listed in the Rig Operations Manual.

Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time, and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.

Comply with company s Code of Conduct.

Train crew for the correct use, type and location of all oil spill equipment.

Comply with and monitor waste segregation policy.

Maintain overall responsibility for the deck crews.

Follow inspections and preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment (including safety equipment) is properly maintained in conjunction with maintenance department (as applicable).

Maintain variable deck loadings and organize and maintain deck and hull load distribution.

Ensure effective loading, stability, and buoyancy of the rig.

Direct material and/or personnel transfer from work boat.

Supervise daily sounding of bulk and cement system.

Actively participate in all safety meetings and contribute with relevant points.

Ensure rig documentation and certifications are properly filed.

Complete and submit reports, logs, records and notes in accordance to procedures and instructions.

Assist with audits and follow up on outstanding audit points to bring them to completion.

Review Company documentation with crew members as required.

Participate in document revisions as required.

Show active participation in Hazard Management and Stop Work activities.

Effectively contribute to Management of Change and Non-Conformance Management through compliance with Change and Non-Conformance Procedures.

Assist in the management of the mentoring process in accordance with the Mentoring Program, as applicable.

Participate in Competence Program.

Implement frontline discipline in consultation with next level supervisor.

Participate, as required, in a leading role in relevant incident investigations.

Conduct formal and informal performance appraisals, which include measuring performance (as applicable).

Ensure direct reports roles and responsibilities are clearly discussed, as applicable.

Liaise with regulatory agencies as appropriate.

Liaise with service personnel onboard installation and ensure they perform operations safely and according to procedures.

Liaise with customer representative to ensure customer s contractual expectations are met and flow of information is effective.

Desired Candidate Profile

Completion of Schooling, or local equivalent education equating to 12 years of School Education and the completion of all training and certification requirements to include but no limited to:

a) USCG Stability or ARO approved equivalent Stability Training

b) OPITO/STCW/Aramco approved Advanced Fire Fighting

c) STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat

d) IATA Dangerous Goods Air Awareness or ARO approved equivalent Course

e) OPITO approved HLO Training

f) Minimum 20 rig moves inclusive of stability calculations, preload calculations, and jacking operations.

g) Valid MODU OIM s License preferred.

Skills:

Good interpersonal skills and excellent team working and organizational skills.

Ability to communicate effectively. Must be able to Read/Write/Speak English Fluently. Bilingual with the additional ability to communicate in Arabic is preferred.

Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.

Must be capable of working in a confined Marine environment.

Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.

Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer s sole discretion.

Be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Physically capable of performing emergency procedures including evacuations, fire drills, and other Emergencies.

Responsible for own personal safety and the safety of co-workers.

Perform all duties as per the Station Bill and Emergency Response Plan.
