Senior Barista

To develop crew to deliver an exceptional customer experience every time, while leading by example and following our policies and procedures. Your main responsibilities are as a crew person however, as a senior crew you have some extra responsibilities. As a senior crew, you provide relevant training to develop Crew and provide regular feedback on performance. This ensures crew is offered continuous development to help keep them engaged and deliver better levels of QSC.

Key Requirements:

  • This position requires the employee to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • This position requires the employee to frequently lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires the employee to bend, lift and reach repeatedly.
  • This position requires the employee to stand/sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • This position requires the employee to express information verbally and in writing.
  • This position requires the employee to be able to hear Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This position requires the employee to be able to grasp objects, pick up objects and hold objects.
  • This position requires the employee to work indoors and outdoors as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and reinforce basic people minimums (uniforms, punctuality).
  • Explain to crew the how to and why behind Joffrey s policies and procedures.
  • Provide appreciative feedback for good performance and constructive feedback when required.
  • Ensure crew remain focused on tasks.
  • Recommend training needs to the restaurant s Barista Trainer or Training Manager.
  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Joffrey s Coffee and Tea Company.
  • Receive and process guest payments.
  • Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
  • Take guest orders and convey them to other employees for preparation.
  • Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
  • Describe menu items to guests or suggest products that might appeal to them.
  • Clean service or seating areas.
  • Serve prepared foods, such as all bakery items.
  • Prepare or serve menu items, such as sandwiches or salads.
  • Set up or restock product displays.
  • Weigh, grind, or pack coffee beans for guests.
  • Stock guest service stations with paper products or beverage preparation items.
  • Wrap, label, or date food items for sale.
  • Provide guests with product details, such as coffee blends or preparation descriptions.
  • Take out the garbage.
  • Order, receive, or stock supplies or retail products.
  • Slice fruits, vegetables, and desserts for use in foodservice.
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Demonstrate the use of retail equipment, such as espresso machines.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests needs and support the operation of the store.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

    • Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel), Word processing software (Microsoft Word)
