As part of our development in Algeria, we are looking for a rare profile: a chemical engineer focused on formulation, capable of transforming their technical expertise into sustainable commercial growth in the Paints / Coatings and Detergents markets.
This position is intended for a builder, capable of communicating with industrial formulators and securing long-term contracts in a demanding regulatory context.
Missions
Develop national sales in the Paints & Detergents segments, by ensuring technical specification, commercial conversion, and the development of technical skills in the market through training and support.
Technical business development (industrial B2B)
Identify, prospect and develop industrial partners (formulators, production units, major users).
Build a profitable and structured portfolio.
Conducting complex negotiations and securing long-term partnerships.
Prescription technique & support formulation
Understand existing customer formulations and propose suitable solutions.
Manage technical trials (product selection, compatibility, performance, stability).
Provide technical support until industrial validation and recurring orders.
Technical training (strategic mission of the position)
Design and deliver technical training courses for industrial clients (paint/detergent).
Organize formulation workshops, technical seminars, product presentations.
Structuring technical materials (technical datasheets, arguments, presentations).
Import compliance & control of constraints in Algeria
Ensure the integration of products into the Forecast Import Programs (PPI).
Ensure documentary and banking follow-up: CAD / domiciliation / import compliance.
Anticipate regulatory blockages and ensure continuity of supply.
Management and reporting to the General Management
Track the pipeline: prospects, trials, approvals, orders.
Produce clear and performance-oriented reporting: forecasts, margins, risks, opportunities.
Conduct competitive and market intelligence.
Profile
Education: Chemical engineer / chemical engineering / formulation (minimum Bac+5).
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in B2B technical sales or business development in the chemical industry.
Highly valued experience in:
paint / coatings / resins / additives and/or detergents / surfactants / industrial hygiene.
Expected technical skills
Actual ability to discuss wording on:
Paints / Coatings
Dispersants, wetting agents, antifoaming agents, thickeners, rheology, biocides, pigments, latex.
Detergent
surfactants (anionic / non-ionic / amphoteric), builders, sequestrants, hydrotropes, preservatives.
Essential business skills
Structured prospecting, closing, key account management.
Ability to defend a high value-added technical solution.
Results-oriented (CA conversion pipeline).
Mobility
Frequent national travel (vehicle preferred).
