Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

A well-diversified large business group in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, having stakes in manufacturing, trading and service sectors, including hospitality, real estate development, construction, telecom, healthcare, higher and school education, to name a few, is seeking applications from experienced Chartered Accountants and Certified Public Accountants for two of its companies. These are hands-on positions that require involvement in multifarious activities related to business analytics, finance and accounting, internal auditing, and corporate governance.

Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager

(requires physical presence in Erbil; working remotely is not an option)


Primary functions

- Financial monitoring

- Financial Controllership

- Financial Reporting

- Corporate Governance

- Accounting and financial management

- Budgeting, planning and strategy formulation

- Business Analytics and management reporting

- Internal auditing, controls assessment, and business review

- Developing policies and procedures, instituting internal controls, and ensuring regulatory and internal compliance

- Technical financial advisory

- New business research and analysis


Desired Candidate Profile

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA or ACCA with 10+ years' relevant experience, out of which 4+ recent years in a leadership position. Experience in a holding company or a Group is desirable; experience in the Middle East is an advantage; experience in hotel industry is another advantage

- Expertise in preparing financial statements, including consolidated financial statements

- Expert knowledge of writing analytical and financial reports professionally

- Expertise in instituting internal controls, and framing policies and procedures

- Expertise in financial and business analysis

- Utmost integrity, professionalism, and ability to keep confidentiality

- Expert knowledge of IFRS and Internal Auditing Standards

- Ability to work closely with the Board and senior management

- Critical thinking, tenacity, excellent analytical skills, and eye for detail

- Excellent command of English; knowledge of Arabic and/or Kurdish is a plus

- Good experience in working with ERP systems and MS Office Suite

- Ability to interpret laws, understand nuances, and analyze contracts

- Willingness to relocate to Erbil in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
