Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemist to join our Environmental and

Food Testing Laboratory in Riyadh. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating,

maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC and ICP for

the analysis of food, water, environmental, and industrial samples.

This role is critical for ensuring high-precision testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and

relevant regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

❖ Advanced Instrument Operation & Analysis

o Independently operate and maintain a range of advanced instruments, including but not

limited to:

− Gas Chromatography (GC)

− High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

− Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzer

− Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP-OES)

− Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)

o Conduct routine and non-routine testing of food, water, soil, and environmental samples.

o Ensure instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.

o Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed.

❖ Method Development & Validation

o Develop and validate new methods based on international

standards (e.g., EPA, AOAC, SFDA, ISO, APHA).

o Adapt and optimize existing methods to improve performance and reliability.

o Ensure all methods meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.

❖ Quality Control & Compliance

o Ensure adherence to ISO/IEC 17025 quality management system.

o Maintain proper documentation, including calibration logs, maintenance records, and

validation reports.

o Participate in internal and external audits, proficiency testing (PT), and corrective actions.

❖ Data Interpretation & Reporting

o Analyze, interpret, and review complex analytical data using instrument software.

o Prepare clear, accurate, and timely analytical reports.

o Ensure data integrity and compliance with lab quality standards.

Qualifications:

o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific

field.

o Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with advanced analytical instruments

in an accredited testing laboratory.

o Strong understanding of instrumental techniques, including sample preparation, method

development, calibration, and data analysis.

o Experience in environmental and food testing preferred.

o Proficiency in software for GC, HPLC, ICP, etc.

o Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025.

o Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
