Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer (Turbine Island) you will be responsible to provide technical input support and guidance on a nuclear project, having direct interface with the Customer and within Worley team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the review and evaluation of as-built documentation and engineering studies documentation related to Turbine Island mechanical systems.
Participates in the review and execution of methodologies, commissioning procedures and schedules for Turbine Island mechanical systems, ensuring readiness for operational handover.
Supports the development, review and validation of commissioning, operating and maintenance procedures.
Attends project meetings on Commissioning issues, participates in the work of relevant commissioning working groups for the Customer.
Coordinates with commissioning and engineering teams to resolve technical issues arising during system start-up and performance testing.
Verifies that system functionality, safety interlocks, and operational parameters meet design intent and regulatory requirements.
Provides engineering support during initial operation phases, including troubleshooting and optimization of Turbine Island systems.
Reviews and validates commissioning records, test reports, and system acceptance documentation for completeness and compliance.
Review training materials and training records specific to Turbine Island design, operation, and engineering principles.
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree beneficial) in mechanical engineering, specializing in Power Generation and Energy.
Strong technical skills; 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering in nuclear power plant development.
Experience in commissioning nuclear power plants is required.
Knowledge of water properties (working with the I-S and derivative T-S diagram), thermodynamic, thermohydraulic and hydrodynamic.
Knowledge of vessels operating under pressure and vacuum, rotating equipment (pumps, fans and compressors), valves, heat exchanger installations and associated equipment, fittings and pipelines.
Familiarity with design, manufacturing, testing and operational codes and standards for systems under pressure and ventilation.
Familiarity with principles and means of measurement and control of thermohydraulic processes.
2D and 3D CAD, CAM, Flow Analysis, Piping Stress Analysis, Finite Element programs software experience is beneficial.
Special Job Requirements
Ability to analyze, communicate, influence and persuade.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential; understanding of Russian and/or Arabic is a plus.
Proactive team player, proven to be effective in a multi-cultural environment.
