Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Concept Design & Vision

  • Lead architectural concept development for residential, mixed-use, hospitality, and master-planned projects.
  • Translate project briefs and business objectives into strong design concepts and architectural narratives.
  • Develop massing, site planning, spatial strategies, and conceptual layouts.
  • Ensure design concepts reflect Sobha Realty’s brand identity, quality standards, and market positioning.

Design Leadership & Coordination

  • Drive design direction across multiple projects at concept and schematic stages.
  • Collaborate closely with urban design, interior design, landscape, and engineering teams.
  • Guide internal teams and external consultants to maintain design intent throughout design development.
  • Review concept proposals, design options, and consultant outputs.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Present design concepts and proposals to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-quality visual presentations, diagrams, and design reports.
  • Support development teams with design input for feasibility studies and proposals.

Technical & Strategic Input

  • Evaluate design feasibility, buildability, cost implications, and sustainability at the concept stage.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, planning guidelines, and international design standards.
  • Contribute to value engineering and design optimization without compromising design quality.

Team Mentorship & Innovation

  • Mentor junior architects and concept designers.
  • Promote innovation, design excellence, and best practices within the design team.
  • Contribute to evolving design strategies and architectural vision of the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile

Professional Experience

  • 10–15+ years of experience in architecture, with strong exposure to concept design.
  • Proven track record in large-scale residential, mixed-use, hospitality, or master-planned developments.
  • Experience working with leading developers, international design firms, or top-tier consultancies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead concept design on complex, high-value projects.

Design & Technical Expertise

  • Strong conceptual thinking and design leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent visual communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of urban design, spatial planning, and contemporary architectural trends.
  • Strong awareness of commercial, cost, and constructability considerations in design.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in architectural and design tools such as Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization software (Lumion, Enscape, 3ds Max, etc.).
  • Ability to produce and review high-quality concept drawings, diagrams, and design documentation.

  • Strategic thinker with a design-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
