Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management & Department Oversight
  • Lead and manage the contract department, overseeing the preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of all types of contracts, including commercial, service, supply, lease, consultancy, employment-related, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensure all contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with company objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and supervise the contract management system, including proper documentation, version control, and archiving.
  • Ensure accurate and secure archiving of all contracts and related legal documents, whether physical or electronic.
  • Legal Advice & Compliance
  • Provide legal advice and support to management and internal departments on contractual, commercial, and general legal matters.
  • Possess and maintain working knowledge across multiple areas of law relevant to the business (commercial, corporate, civil, labor, and regulatory laws).
  • Identify legal risks in contracts and business operations and propose practical mitigation solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies in all contractual arrangements.
  • Internal Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Conduct meetings with internal departments to understand business needs and contractual requirements.
  • Translate commercial and operational requirements into clear and enforceable contractual terms.
  • Act as legal point of contact for contract-related matters across the organization.
  • Negotiation & External Relations
  • Lead and conduct contract negotiations with external parties, including clients, suppliers, partners, and service providers.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary and review their input to ensure alignment with company interests.
  • Support dispute avoidance by ensuring clear, balanced, and enforceable contract provisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Law (LL.B).
  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 5 years of experience, with strong focus on contract management and commercial law, preferably in an in-house role.
  • Proven experience handling high-volume and high-value contracts across different business sectors.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English languages.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and general legal principles across multiple areas of law.
  • Ability to manage sensitive discussions and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal and commercial challenges.
  • Highly organized with strong document management and archiving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and business-focused mindset.
