Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Costing Operations: Develop, maintain, and review standard costing structures for raw materials, labor, and overhead in line with the production process. Ensure cost records accurately reflect production realities.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analyses between actual, standard, and budgeted costs. Identify root causes of deviations and recommend corrective measures to improve cost efficiency.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling cost estimates. Provide financial insights to support management decisions.
- Inventory Valuation & Control: Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventories. Collaborate with the warehouse and production teams to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Cost Reports & Dashboards: Prepare monthly cost performance reports and Budget vs. Actual variance reports for management review. Present findings and cost trends to support operational and financial decisions.
- Production Cost Monitoring: Work closely with plant operations to monitor energy, material, and labor consumption rates. Analyze cost per ton of output and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain internal controls related to costing, inventory, and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and audit requirements.
- Systems Utilization: Use ERP systems (SAP CO, MM, PP, FI modules) and advanced Excel tools to track, analyze, and report cost data efficiently.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with procurement, production, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and efficient resource use.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (English or French section preferred). Professional certification such as CMA, CIMA, or CPA is highly desirable.
Experience: 3 5 years of progressive experience in cost accounting or management accounting, preferably within cement, steel, or heavy manufacturing industries.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of cost accounting systems, standard costing, and variance analysis.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex cost data and provide actionable insights.
ERP & Excel Expertise: Advanced user of SAP and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, financial modeling).
Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of IFRS and industrial cost control frameworks.
Communication: Clear reporting and presentation skills for financial and non-financial audiences.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in production environments.br>
