Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting systems and processes to support manufacturing operations.
Analyze production costs, variances, and profitability to provide actionable insights for management.
Prepare detailed cost reports, forecasts, and budgets to support financial planning and decision-making.
Monitor inventory transactions and ensure proper valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
Conduct periodic audits of cost records and inventory to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing relevant cost accounting entries and reconciliations.
Assist in the development and implementation of standard costing methods and procedures.
Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff on cost accounting best practices.
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested by management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven expertise in cost analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of inventory management and valuation methods.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
