Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine project requirements and scope.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to gather essential data for cost estimation.
- Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project standards.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, historical records, and estimation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present comprehensive cost reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support tendering and bidding processes by providing timely and competitive cost estimates.
- Monitor ongoing project costs and update estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or market conditions.
- Ensure all cost estimation activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of proven experience in cost estimation within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market pricing.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with tendering and bidding processes is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of industry standards, codes, and best practices.
