Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Customer Account Management
- Maintain and reconcile customer ledgers, ensuring accurate allocation of receipts and up-to-date statements.
- Evaluate and establish credit limits based on financial assessments and risk evaluations.
Collections & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor and collect overdue payments, ensuring timely receipt of funds in line with company terms.
- Prepare and update cash flow forecasts, allocating payments and processing claims/credits.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and review aged debt reports, identifying balances at risk and actions being taken.
- Monitor and report on debtor days, credit notes issued and provide monthly commentary.
Credit Risk Management
- Collaborate with credit insurers for ongoing customer credit limit requirements and contribute to annual credit insurance renewal.
- Assess company risk and ensure compliance with credit policies.
Dispute Resolution & Customer Coordination
- Resolve customer issues related to account discrepancies, billing errors, or payment matters promptly and objectively.
- Work with internal teams to review customer debit notes and deductions.
Collaboration with Internal Departments
- Collaborate with operations, commercial, and sales teams to ensure effective communication and coordination regarding customer accounts, pricing, orders, and other customer queries/issues.
- Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained to avoid any sales bottlenecks.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards and facilitate the conduct of quality internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for financial information and transactions.
Customer Onboarding & Record Maintenance
- Set up new clients in the system and maintain up-to-date client records, including changes to billing or contact information.
- Ensure all customer data is accurate and compliant with company standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Preferred candidates from Abu Dhabi
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- Master’s degree or professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is a plus
- Minimum 5‑7 UAE years’ experience in credit, prior FMCG industry experience is desirable
- Strong knowledge of credit control processes: credit risk assessment, credit limits, customer evaluation
- Hands‑on experience with ERP systems & financial software (e.g. SAP B1)
- Advanced Excel skills; ability to analyze financial statements, aging reports, cash flow forecasts
- Leadership / team‑management skills: supervise, coach a collections / credit control team
- Strong communication & negotiation skills: dealing with customers, sales, internal stakeholders
- Attention to detail; accuracy in reconciling accounts, allocating receipts, resolving disputes
- Good decision‑making & analytical ability; ability to escalate when required
