Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Senior Data and AI Engineer will play a pivotal role in shaping data infrastructure and supporting GBG s digital transformation initiatives. Based in Cairo, Egypt, with flexibility for remote work, this full-time hybrid role involves designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that enhance the company s IT infrastructure. This role will focus on data engineering, data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and advanced analytics to support GBG s mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions.
- Develop and implement data models, architectures, and data warehousing solutions to meet complex data processing requirements.
- Conduct data transformation, data integration, and data analytics to support business intelligence and decision-making needs.
- Manage and maintain database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and oversee data quality and integrity across platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data solutions align with business objectives and industry best practices.
- Create data visualization solutions and dashboards to enable data-driven insights, utilizing tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and QuickSight.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Background: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles, with a strong background in data architecture and pipeline development.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in data engineering, data modeling, ETL, data warehousing, and data analytics.
- Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud) and big data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
- Skilled in programming languages, including Python and SQL, with experience in at least one big data framework.
- Strong command of ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, Amazon Glue) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud).
- In-depth knowledge of data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Synapse) and database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
