Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1) Serve as the technical lead for the delivery of specific data initiatives identified in the roadmap (e.g., data governance frameworks, analytics platforms, master data management, data literacy programs)

2) Lead (hands-on) the evolution of the target technical solution design, platform selection, integration, and implementation

3) Lead technical teams in building and deploying dashboards, data pipelines, source system integration and Data Cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure)

4) Support change management, training, and knowledge transfer to the University teams

5) Act as a trusted advisor to University s Strategic Insights function and senior leadership

6) Effectively engage with the CIO, CISO and (future) CDO primarily, along with other C-Suite executives across the University including the President

Desired Candidate Profile

1) 10+ years experience in data strategy, governance, management, analytics, or data transformation roles, ideally within higher education, research, or complex public sector environments

2) Proven track record of leading current state assessments, data strategy and governance development, and roadmap design for large organizations

3) Deep expertise in data governance, data quality, data lineage, data architecture in cloud (e.g., Azure Cloud), analytics platforms (e.g., Power BI) and AI solutions (e.g., Copilot)

4) Strong understanding of data management frameworks (e.g., DAMA, DCAM) and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PDPL, NCA)

5) Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and drive consensus across diverse user groups

6) Experience designing and implementing data operating models, governance structures, and technical solutions

7) Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills. The candidate has to come across as an advisory/consultant, not just as a plain data architect

8) Experience working in the GCC region or similar cultural contexts is highly desirable

9) Exposure to integration of data platforms with enterprise corporate systems (e.g., SAP S4HANA for Finance and HR)

10 ) Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
