About the Job

We are a leading e-commerce platform, looking for a Senior Data Quality Engineer to ensure our data pipelines are accurate, consistent, and reliable. In this role, you will define and enforce data quality standards, implement automated quality frameworks, and collaborate across teams to continuously improve our data ecosystem.

You will work closely with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality data drives business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain robust data quality frameworks and best practices.

Define, & monitor KPIs for data quality, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, & consistency.

Perform data profiling, validation, and cleansing across multiple systems and databases.

Develop SQL/ETL tests to catch data issues early.

Build automated data validation and monitoring pipelines.

Validate data flows in real time across diverse systems.

Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to identify and resolve root causes. Create dashboards and reports to track data quality metrics.

Set up alerts for anomalies and data issues.

Automate data cleansing and standardization processes where possible.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for recurring data issues.

Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in data quality assurance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data quality assurance or a related role.

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.

Hands-on experience with Python, R, or another language used for data validation and automation. Experience with ETL tools and building data pipelines.

Solid understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and master data concepts. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Proven ability to design and implement automated QA/data validation pipelines.

Knowledge of e-commerce or retail industry is a plus.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
