Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI, machine learning, and optimization solutions across Bosta's operations and commercial functions.

You will work on high-impact initiatives ranging from agentic AI systems and NLP applications to forecasting, optimization, routing, and decision-support systems. You will partner closely with engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define technical solutions, and drive projects from concept to production.

This role requires strong technical depth, business acumen, and the ability to independently lead complex data science initiatives while mentoring junior team members.

Job Description:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning, AI, and optimization solutions that drive measurable business impact
Architect and build agentic AI systems, LLM-powered applications, and NLP solutions for internal and customer-facing products
Develop predictive models for forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, recommendation systems, and operational planning
Design and implement optimization models and heuristics for routing, capacity planning, resource allocation, and logistics operations
Define experimentation frameworks, evaluation methodologies, and model monitoring strategies
Drive the full lifecycle of data science projects from problem formulation through production deployment and continuous improvement
Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable ML systems and production-grade AI services
Partner with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous problems into analytical and technical solutions
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data scientists and analysts
Stay current with advancements in AI, LLMs, optimization, and machine learning, evaluating opportunities to apply them within Bosta

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Applied AI, or related fields
Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning, and data science methodologies
Proven experience building and deploying production machine learning systems
Strong expertise in Python and common ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar
Experience designing and implementing NLP solutions and working with modern language models
Hands-on experience with LLM applications, agentic workflows, RAG systems, tool-calling frameworks, and prompt engineering
Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, APIs, testing, version control, and system design
Experience working with cloud platforms and scalable data infrastructure
Ability to independently lead projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Operations Research, mathematical optimization, routing, scheduling, or simulation models
Experience deploying and operating AI systems in production environments
Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and model monitoring
Experience with vector databases, knowledge retrieval systems, and AI orchestration frameworks
Experience mentoring junior team members or leading technical initiatives
Exposure to logistics, supply chain, marketplaces, or large-scale operational environments

Nice to Have

Experience with geospatial analytics and routing optimization
Experience with forecasting and demand planning models
Familiarity with Arabic and multilingual NLP
Contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, or research initiatives
