Responsibilities

  • Manage SQL Server and Azure cloud databases
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
  • Monitor system's health and performance.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
  • Provide suggestions for solutions.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide support for critical production systems within us time-zone/from Monday to Friday.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Managing Backup strategy.
  • Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • At least 6 years of database administration experience in hybrid environments (on-premises data centers and Azure cloud platforms).
  • Expert-level, hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, including implementing and supporting SQL Always On and Distributed Availability Groups.
  • Experience automating routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Good experience with Linux operating systems and Windows Server administration
  • Good knowledge in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration
  • Good understanding of networking, storage, and security principles in containerized environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO).
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server and Azure cloud database service.
  • Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Team player.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Azure Database Administrator Associate certifications is a plus.
  • Azure Data Factory provisioning and administration is a plus.
