Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies related to transport projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and governance frameworks.
- Manage contract administration activities, including negotiation, execution, change management, claims, and close-out processes.
- Oversee procurement activities, ensuring competitive sourcing, value for money, and compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.
- Drive cost management and budgeting processes to support project delivery within approved financial parameters.
- Collaborate with project delivery, finance, legal, and risk teams to mitigate commercial risks and resolve issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain commercial frameworks, policies, procedures, and templates tailored to transport projects.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to commercial and procurement teams to enhance performance and capability.
- Ensure robust reporting and governance through regular updates to senior management and executive stakeholders.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and regulators, to maintain strong commercial relationships.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements in commercial processes and practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Bachelor s degree in Commercial Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Transport Management, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualifications (Masters or MBA) preferred.
Experience and Skills
- 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial leadership roles within transport infrastructure or related sectors.
- Strong expertise in contract administration, procurement strategy, and commercial risk management.
- Proven track record managing complex transport projects, preferably within large infrastructure or governmental organizations.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within stringent governance and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to drive cost control and value optimization strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and commercial acumen.
