Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Downstream Planning & Performance Management Analyst to join our Downstream Finance, Planning & Performance Management Department (DS P&PMD) with a background in complex performance reports and assessments, external reporting requirements, and support the development, implementation, and monitoring of transfer pricing mechanisms across value chains.

The Downstream Planning and Performance team are the gatekeepers of Downstream' s planning, performance reporting and business accountability, turning financial, operational and market intelligence data into action-oriented insights. Partners closely with the business to influence decisions, identify performance opportunities, and drive timely corrective actions while continuously improving planning and report processes.

Your primary role is to provide supporting governance processes by providing robust analysis for management reviews, and performance dialogues, ensuring alignment with policies, regulatory, and commercial objectives that requires close collaboration with business, senior leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders, as well as a strong ability to develop clear appraisal reports for management, and highlight financial outcomes, risks, and recommendations. The role is ideal for experts in management performance reporting, and translating financial and operational data into highlights and insights for management and investors.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • External Reporting and Investor Relations:

Support external reporting requirements for the Downstream business, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting and reporting standards.

  • Liaise with finance and technical accounting teams to ensure business performance, transactions, and judgments are appropriately reflected in external disclosures.
  • Provide analytical support for significant accounting estimates, judgments, and performance related disclosures.
  • Transfer Pricing:
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of transfer pricing mechanisms
  • Analyze margins, profitability, and value flows.
  • Support transfer pricing documentation and internal governance.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance:

  • Partner with commercial, operations, tax, finance, and strategy teams to ensure financial analysis reflects business realities.
  • Analyze deviations between forecast and actual results, identifying root causes, lessons learned, and implications for future decision-making.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum requirements

As the successful candidate you will have: -

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline from a recognized and approved program (MBA or professional certification such as CFA, CMA, CPA preferred).
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably big 4, large public accounting firm, listed entities or regulated environments.
  • Strong financial planning, performance analysis, and reporting skills
  • Experience in Downstream or value-chain-based businesses. Understanding of transfer pricing concepts and value flows.
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to communicate insights clearly. Experience with supporting investment appraisals or post-transaction reviews.
