Full Job Description:

The senior Electric Utility Engineer. This position performs a variety of electrical tasks within the electric utility related to power plants, substations, lines, lighting systems , BMS , solar cells duties,
such as equipment utilization, load studies, operation efficiencies; assist management in developing, supporting, monitoring, and instituting programs and procedures to ensure environmentally sound and legal operation of the electric system and generation facilities.

Duties:
Develop, implement, administer, maintain and support technical systems used by the Electric Department personnel.
Technical systems could include: energy accounting software, supervisory control and data acquisition systems ("SCADA"), distribution control and protection equipment
engaged in the design, documentation, coding, testing and implementation of new or enhancements to existing application POWER UNITS .
tasked to prepare user documentation and train personnel in the proper use of programs and equipment;.
engineering activities related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the facilities of the Redding Electric Utility; assist in the design of new and/or modifications to existing utility facilities
ensure adequate capacity and reliability of the electric system (transmission and distribution lines, substations) through development of load forecasts,
inspect and monitor system equipment, including metering, capacitors, regulators, power circuit breakers, transformers , protective devices; power factor, equipment loading, voltage,
recommend new equipment , Spare parts purchases when needed;
lead and coordinate the activities of assigned personnel and contractors in the maintenance, or installation operation,
Supervision of installation for plant' utilities
Supervision of operation for plant' utilities
Creating preventive maintenance plan/schedule/tasks for plant utilities
Supervision of maintenance (breakdown and/or preventive) for plant' utilities
Supporting technical purchases for plant' utilities
Managing contractors (selection/follow up/evaluation)
Managing outsourced / subcontracted engineering services
