Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Water Pumping Station Danway Electrical & Mechanical Engineering LLC

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong expertise in pump station projects and comprehensive knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems. The role involves leading electrical design activities, ensuring full compliance with UAE local authority requirements, international standards, and project specifications for infrastructure and industrial projects.

1. Design & Engineering

   
   

   1.1 Develop complete electrical design solutions for pump stations and infrastructure projects in compliance with UAE regulations and authority requirements.

   1.2 Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for MV and LV systems. Design and specify MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, LVDBs, and protection schemes.

   1.3 Select and size MV/LV drives (VFDs) for pumping and process applications.

   1.4 Design and specify power transformers and phase shift transformers.

   1.5 Perform UPS system selection, sizing, and redundancy philosophy as per project and authority requirements.

   
   

2. Calculations & Technical Studies

   
   

   2.1 Perform and review earthing and grounding calculations in accordance with UAE standards, DEWA/ADDC/AADC/SEWA requirements, and international codes.

   2.2 Carry out short-circuit, load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, and protection coordination studies.

   2.3 Prepare comprehensive cable schedules for MV/LV power, control, and instrumentation cables.

   2.4 Design and coordinate busbar protection systems, including differential protection and relay coordination.

   
   

3. Layouts & Drawing

   
   

   3.1 Prepare and review electrical equipment layouts for substations, pump stations, and electrical rooms in line with authority clearance requirements.

   3.2 Develop cable tray layouts, ensuring segregation, derating, and capacity calculations as per UAE and IEC standards.

   3.3 Coordinate cable routing with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation disciplines.

   3.4 Review vendor drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications and UAE authority standards.

   
   

4. Authority & Compliance

   
   

   4.1 Ensure designs comply with UAE local authority standards and guidelines, including (but not limited to): DEWA / ADDC / AADC / SEWA / FEWA /Civil Defense requirements / Municipality and utility regulations

   4.2 Apply relevant international standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, NEC, and project-specific specifications.

   4.3 Liaise with authorities, consultants, and clients during design submissions, reviews, and approvals.

   4.4 Provide technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning stages.
