Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the preparation, review, and approval of electrical shop drawings (power distribution, lighting, grounding/earthing, ELV, LV & MV Infrastructure , and life safety systems) using Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Oversee BIM coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, and ICT disciplines to ensure clash-free, constructible models.
- Review and validate load schedules, panel schedules, cable sizing, routing layouts, and single-line diagrams for compliance with project specifications and international standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Provide technical guidance to intermediate and junior engineers, ensuring adherence to company and project CAD/BIM standards.
- Lead the clash detection, model validation, and quantity take-off processes using Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent tools.
- Ensure shop drawings reflect site conditions, consultant feedback, and project changes accurately and are submitted on time.
- Support in Material submittals (MARs) review, technical submittals, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate closely with procurement, construction, and QA/QC teams to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability.
- Conduct design verification and value engineering to optimize electrical systems in terms of cost, efficiency, and performance.
- Review and validate lux level calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash, and harmonic studies in line with project requirements.
- Ensure proper earthing, lightning protection, and separation of normal and emergency systems in drawings and models.
- Prepare and review as-built drawings and ensure alignment with redline markups from site execution.
- Mentor and coach junior staff to improve Revit modeling, detailing, and coordination skills.
- Provide progress reports, technical presentations, and updates to project management and consultants.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and managing large-scale electrical projects from concept to completion.
- Proven ability to lead project teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in using electrical design software and project management tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Commitment to upholding safety and quality standards in all engineering activities.
- Tools: Professional use of Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
