Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

  • To ensure the instrument equipment system is safe and reliable to operate and to provide professional advice and guidance regarding electrical systems, schemes, equipment or techniques, facility designs and solutions to operating and maintenance problems.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to plant operation and maintenanc units to troubleshoot and fix instrument system including reporting and documentation.
  • Participate on control systems (DCS, ESD, CCS, VMS, etc) FAT and SAT tests, commissioning and PAT as required.
  • Participate on studies and company studies including HAZOP, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing.
  • Conduct performance and compliance assessments for the facilities control systems and instrumentation and generate the related reports.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate malfunctioning systems and provide recommendations to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Handle field troubleshooting activities to determine failure root causes for several types of plants control systems, such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Compressor Control System (CCS), Vibration Monitoring System (VMS), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), SCADA, Plant Information system (PI), etc
  • Knowledgeable about the communication protocols like DNP3, Modbus, FieldBus, TCP, IEC, SPA, RP570, ANSI and General Process Automation Protocols
  • Implement best-in-class solutions pertaining to the instrument equipment, as foreseen by international standards.
  • Provide and confirm the BOM Spare part required for instrument equipment and resolve the obsolete spare part issue.
  • Participate and devleop the ACA/RCM strategy related to instrument equipment.
  • Lead and particiapte in RCA related to equipment failure reliability /safety incident.
  • Investigate asset failures that lead to unplanned Shut down and provide recommendation.
  • Support instrument engineering team for any technical support needed.
  • Participate in all Turnaround /Shut Down activitities ,develop the Scope, and engage with team to achieve the scope safely and with high quility .
  • Resolve the bad actor equipement to eliminate recurring instrument equipment failures.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications:

B.Sc. in instrumentation And Control Engineering/ Electrical Engineering

Minimum Experience:

  • 5-7 year s Engineering experience in the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical/Mining industry
  • Must have a wide experience in instrument equipment and reliability function.
  • Must have a comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in troubleshooting and investigation, failure mode analysis and familiar with reliability programs.
