Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end civil and structural design activities ensuring compliance with DEWA / ETIHAD

standards.

  • Ensure high accuracy, quality, and statutory compliance of all civil design documents.

  • Take ownership of all civil design deliverables across project phases.

  • Manage civil and structural design scope for substations and cabling works.

  • Prepare, review, and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, and authorities for approvals.

  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination with Electrical, MEP, and Fire teams.

  • Support EPC execution, value engineering, and vendor evaluations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in substation civil design, showcasing a deep understanding of the field.

  • Proven experience in leading and delivering all civil and structural design activities for EHV / HV substations in the UAE or GCC region.

  • Authority-specific experience with DEWA / ETIHADWE / FEWA / SEWA / AADC / ADDC / TRANSCO / TAQA is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of DEWA / ETIHAD standards.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD, SAFE, ETABS or equivalent.

  • Expertise in foundation, drainage, and substation civil systems.

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, contract documents, and authority guidelines.

  • Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural EPC environment.
