Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Engineer VAS Operations to join our Managed Services team in Oman.

This role is responsible for 2nd Level operations and support of critical Value Added Services (VAS) platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and service continuity in line with defined SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 incident and fault management for VAS platforms.
  • Perform KPI analysis, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure optimal performance of SMSC and VAS nodes.
  • Support and implement technical solutions for:
    • SMSC
    • USSD
    • OTA
    • MCN and VAS systems
  • Develop scripts and procedures to improve O&M efficiency.
  • Analyze logs, performance reports, and packet captures (MAP, CAP, SMPP).
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal network teams to resolve critical issues.
  • Support customer care requests related to SMS, USSD, and VAS services.
  • Participate in installation, commissioning, system upgrades, and acceptance testing.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 5 years of experience in telecom operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Comviva SMSC, USSD, MCN, and Invigo OTA platforms.
  • Good understanding of IN & SMSC call flows.
  • Knowledge of telecom protocols:
    • SS7 (CAMEL, ISUP, MAP)
    • SIGTRAN, TCP/IP, Diameter, SIP
  • Experience with Linux administration, SQL/databases, and scripting (Shell / Python / Perl).
  • Experience working in a Managed Services environment.
