Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and project requirements.
- Conduct thorough market research to gather current pricing data on materials and labor, enabling informed decision-making for project budgeting.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify project scope and technical specifications, minimizing discrepancies during the estimation process.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals, including comprehensive breakdowns of costs, timelines, and resources required, to support competitive bidding processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential for a strong foundation in estimation principles.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in cost estimation, particularly within the construction or engineering sectors, is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or Certified Cost Technician (CCT) are highly regarded and indicative of expertise.
- Proficiency in estimation software such as RSMeans, Sage Estimating, or similar tools is crucial for effective cost analysis and reporting.
