Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Location: Sheraton El Matar, El Nozha
Department: Estimation / Tendering
Employment Type: Full-time - 2 days off
We are seeking a Senior Estimation / Tender Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing tender documents, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring timely submission of competitive bids.
Study and analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, requirements, and potential risks.
Review project feasibility, site conditions, and client requirements to ensure accurate pricing.
Clarify tender queries with clients or consultants when required.
2. Cost Estimation & Pricing:Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost breakdowns based on drawings and specifications.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
Develop accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and profit margins.
Conduct rate analysis and cost benchmarking from historical data and market rates.
3. Tender Preparation & Submission:Prepare complete technical and commercial tender proposals, ensuring compliance with tender requirements.
Coordinate with design, procurement, and project management teams to collect all necessary data for pricing.
Ensure that all tender deliverables (technical documents, cost sheets, clarifications, etc.) are submitted on time.
Review final tender submissions for accuracy, consistency, and competitiveness.
4. Coordination & Communication:Liaise with the Project, Engineering, and Procurement departments to align technical and commercial aspects.
Participate in internal review meetings to discuss project strategy, risks, and value engineering options.
Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and partners during the tendering and post-tender stages.
5. Post-Tender Activities:Provide clarifications, adjustments, and technical responses to post-tender queries.
Participate in negotiation meetings and assist in contract finalization.
Hand over successful bids to the project execution team, including detailed cost breakdowns and documentation.
6. Reporting & Database Management:Maintain an updated database of suppliers, subcontractors, and material costs.
Prepare tender status reports and submit to management for review.
Track awarded, lost, and ongoing tenders to analyze performance and improve bidding strategy.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in civil / mechanical / electrical engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 8 years of experience in estimation and tendering (preferably in construction, MEP, or infrastructure projects).
Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques, BOQs, and tendering procedures.
Excellent command of English language (spoken and written).
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation software's.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent teamwork and coordination abilities.
Familiarity with tender regulations.
