Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Finance Manager will serve as the financial backbone of the Group, owning all aspects of finance, treasury, banking relationships, cash flow management, budgeting, and group-level financial reporting. This is a senior leadership position requiring a hands-on, commercially astute individual who can manage the complexities of a multi-entity, multi-country contracting business while providing strategic financial counsel to executive leadership.

  1. Banking & Treasury Management

  • Manage and maintain all banking relationships across UAE, KSA, and Qatar — including commercial banks, Islamic finance institutions, and trade finance providers.

  • Negotiate and manage credit facilities, bank guarantees (tender, performance, advance payment), letters of credit (LC), and other banking instruments.

  • Oversee treasury operations including investment of surplus funds, FX risk management, and intercompany funding.

  • Ensure compliance with banking covenants and liaise with relationship managers for timely renewals and facility reviews.

  1. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Prepare, maintain, and continuously monitor weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts across all entities.

  • Manage working capital cycle — debtors, creditors, and project billing milestones — to optimize liquidity.

  • Coordinate with project and operations teams to align payment schedules, client invoicing, and subcontractor settlements.

  • Identify and address cash flow gaps proactively; recommend corrective actions to management.

  1. Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Lead the annual group budgeting exercise in coordination with department heads and project managers.

  • Develop divisional and consolidated budgets covering revenue, cost of sales, overhead, capex, and manpower.

  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget) and provide actionable commentary to senior management on a monthly basis.

  • Support strategic planning through multi-year financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.

  1. Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for all group entities.

  • Ensure group consolidation and inter-company eliminations are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the annual statutory audit process.

  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, KSA ZATCA requirements, and Qatar tax laws; coordinate with tax consultants as needed.

  • Maintain proper books of accounts in compliance with IFRS standards.

  1. Project Finance & Cost Control

  • Monitor financial performance of individual contracts and projects; provide project-wise P&L visibility.

  • Review and validate project cost estimates, BOQs, and variation order claims from a financial perspective.

  • Track mobilization costs, project receivables, and retention release schedules.

  • Support the tendering team with financial inputs, bid bonds, and project financing structures.

  1. Accounts & Internal Controls

  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions; ensure timely collection and payment cycles.

  • Establish and enforce robust internal financial controls, SOPs, and authorization matrices.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing in coordination with the HR department.

  • Implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Tally, or equivalent).

  1. Strategic & Advisory Role

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the Group CEO and senior leadership on financial matters, capital allocation, and business performance.

  • Evaluate financial viability of new business opportunities, joint ventures, and market expansion.

  • Prepare board-level financial presentations and investor/banker reports as required.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across group entities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (mandatory).

  • CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA qualification preferred. MBA Finance is an added advantage.

  • Mandatory: Prior experience in a contracting, construction, or project-based company in the GCC region.

  • Demonstrated track record in managing banking relationships, project finance, and multi-entity group reporting.

  • Hands-on experience with UAE VAT, bank guarantee/LC management, and IFRS-compliant financial reporting.

  • Exposure to multi-country GCC operations (UAE + KSA and/or Qatar) highly preferred.

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Tally) and MS Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, dashboards).

  • Strong command of IFRS accounting standards and GCC-specific regulatory requirements.

  • Deep understanding of trade finance instruments — bank guarantees, LCs, invoice discounting.

  • Proficiency in cash flow modelling, budget consolidation, and financial scenario analysis.
