2. Overall Job Purpose:
The Senior Geologist Special Projects provides high-impact strategic and technical leadership within Ma aden s Exploration Division, supporting the advancement of non-core mineral opportunities including but not limited to uranium, rare earth elements, and other emerging commodities that fall outside the traditional portfolio.
Operating with a high degree of technical acumen, discretion, and autonomy, the role is instrumental in:
- Conducting geological investigations, advanced geoscientific analysis, and data interpretation to identify and evaluate unconventional resource targets
- Coordinating permitting activities in compliance with national and international regulatory frameworks, ensuring timely and lawful project progression
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement, including cross-functional collaboration within Ma aden and representation with external partners, regulators, and technical service providers
The incumbent plays a pivotal role in early-stage resource development, contributing to strategic decision-making and investment planning. This includes ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality protocols, environmental standards, and project governance requirements.
By integrating technical insight with strategic foresight, the Senior Geologist supports Ma aden s commitment to responsibly and innovatively expanding its mineral portfolio, unlocking new value streams in alignment with long-term exploration objectives.

The Senior Geologist Special Projects provides high-level technical leadership and strategic oversight in the execution of Ma aden s Special Exploration Projects, with a mandate to identify, evaluate, and advance unconventional mineral opportunities including but not limited to uranium, rare earth elements, and other emerging commodities.
The role spans the entire exploration lifecycle, from early-stage conceptualization and target generation to field investigations, regulatory engagement, and resource advancement. It plays a pivotal role in shaping Ma aden s future mineral portfolio by integrating diverse technical and strategic inputs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Driving multidisciplinary integration across geology, permitting, infrastructure planning, and government affairs to ensure cohesive and forward-looking project execution
- Facilitating the progression of non-traditional resource targets in alignment with Ma aden s strategic exploration mandate and long-term growth objectives
- Acting as a subject matter expert, contributing to project design, technical reviews, and execution strategies within clearly defined operational and strategic parameters
The role demands a proactive and innovative mindset, capable of navigating complex technical challenges, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring regulatory compliance. It is central to Ma aden s efforts to responsibly explore and develop strategically significant mineral resources.
Decisions:
The position operates under the guidance of the Manager, Exploration and Resource Development, with delegated accountability for leading technical execution and resource coordination within Ma aden s Special Projects portfolio.
Decision-Making Responsibilities Include:
- Applying geological expertise to inform project direction, target prioritization, and resource evaluation
- Coordinating technical work plans, managing geoscientific data inputs, and overseeing field operations to ensure quality, consistency, and alignment with project goals
- Engaging with external consultants, contractors, and service providers, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with Ma aden s standards and expectations
All decisions are made within the framework of Ma aden s corporate policies and governance protocols, and are subject to formal review checkpoints to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, strategic alignment, and operational excellence.
6. Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a closely related field.
Additional Qualifications (preferred):
Master s degree in Mineral Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or Public Policy.
Min Technical / Functional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with demonstrated exposure to greenfield and frontier project environments.
- Proven ability to contribute to the early-stage evaluation of unconventional or strategic mineral resources such as uranium, rare earth elements, or other specialty commodities.
- Familiarity with permitting protocols, ESG principles, and national regulatory frameworks relevant to resource development.
- Proficient in geological modeling, resource estimation techniques, and managing workstreams across the exploration lifecycle.
- Working understanding of financial evaluation practices, budgeting principles, and risk-adjusted analysis for speculative exploration targets.
