Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Geophysicist responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Geophysical interpretation of newly discovered and mature fields within Block 53 to support geological modeling.
  • Ability to integrate geophysical interpretation with geological understanding.
  • Seismic attribute analysis.
  • QA/QC of seismic data and seismic reprocessing projects.
  • Work closely with RMT GG in the planning of each Thuleilat well, including pre- and post-drilling reviews, with the aim of achieving zero sidetracks from spud to TD, including in BUS/laterals.
  • Involvement in well drilling activities, including structural prediction, hazard identification (e.g., faults, stringers, out-of-zone risks), and providing recommendations for well plan adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify the optimal location for proposed pilot holes.
  • Support geologists (GG) in understanding, ranking, and evaluating program oil, with the goal of avoiding high-risk areas (e.g., high water cut, high-pressure stringers, poor geology).
  • Support GG in investigating the presence, nature, extent, stratigraphic relationships, and potential of stringers found in the Thuleilat Field.
  • Provide geophysical support to the reserves portfolio within the block.
  • Coach junior and mid-career geophysicists to help them achieve their project goals.
  • Mentor job seekers and summer interns.
