Job Description
Senior GIS Specialist Parsons Corporation Dubai, UAEbr>
Key Responsibilities
- Update, maintain, and enhance geospatial databases to ensure accuracy, integrity, and alignment with project requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver spatial data, analysis, and insights that support informed decision-making
- Create, review, and maintain digital GIS maps for varied project needs
- Prepare system and database reports, checklists, and documentation with appropriate oversight
- Develop custom GIS applications and tools to address spatial challenges
- Assist with installation, configuration, and management of enterprise GIS portals and server environments
- Implement spatial database designs and data models for efficient querying and analysis
- Define data types, relationships, constraints, and indexes to optimize performance
- Perform advanced editing, digitizing, and geoprocessing to convert data and analyze geospatial information
- Support GIS implementation and management plans at program and project levels
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to junior team members
- Respond to client queries and support internal coordination across departments
- Contribute to multidisciplinary project delivery and perform additional duties as required
Desired Candidate Profile
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor s degree in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum seven years of relevant professional experience
- Strong understanding of GIS fundamentals with CAD and BIM awareness
- Proven experience in spatial database design, data models, and geoprocessing workflows
- Experience supporting GIS implementation across large-scale programs
Skills Set
- Proficiency with GIS software, databases, workflows, troubleshooting, and system capabilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in geospatial contexts
- Knowledge of QA and QC practices, data management standards, and geoprocessing techniques
- Experience with web services, mobile GIS applications, and FME-based data transformation
- Ability to automate tasks and perform complex analyses using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
- Demonstrated cartographic design skills and production of scaled maps
- Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders
