Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hardware design for advanced computing platforms integrating Intel FPGA, AMD Zynq Ultrascale+, and RFSoC architectures.
  • Design CPU-FPGA high-performance boards for real-time data acquisition, PHY control, and distributed communication.
  • Develop detailed schematics, power delivery architectures, and low-jitter clock networks.
  • Define and manage high-speed interfaces including PCIe Gen5/Gen6, Ethernet 1G/10G/100G, DDR4/DDR5, MIPI, USB, AXI, JESD204B/C, and ultra-high-speed SerDes up to 1600G.
  • Collaborate with FPGA teams for I/O planning, constraints, and transceiver optimization.
  • Design Zynq and RFSoC system boards with ARM cores, RF front-ends, and mixed-signal interfaces.
  • Perform PDN design, voltage sequencing, and decoupling analysis for multi-rail systems.
  • Conduct SI/PI simulations using Sigrity, HyperLynx, ADS, or equivalent.
  • Guide PCB layout placement, routing, and stack-up decisions ensuring electrical and thermal integrity.
  • Own board bring-up, validation, functional testing (oscilloscopes, VNAs, logic analyzers, BERT).
  • Work with firmware teams on driver integration, memory mapping, and system initialization.
  • Manage prototype manufacturing, DFM/DFA, vendor coordination, and assembly reviews.
  • Maintain detailed design documentation, schematics, BOMs, and verification reports.
  • Contribute to platform-level architecture discussions and optimization strategies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with RFSoC RF chain integration and mixed-signal validation.
  • Background in multi-FPGA or CPU-FPGA synchronized architectures.
  • Skills in ADS, SIwave, LTSpice, or similar modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with SoC bring-up, bootloaders, and embedded debugging.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet PHYs, switch fabrics, and data center hardware architectures.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts (Python, LabVIEW).
  • Familiarity with compliance (CE/FCC/EMC) and ESD/EMI mitigation.
  • Strong documentation, analysis, and cross-team communication skills.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s/Master s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.

8+ years of experience in digital & mixed-signal hardware design for FPGA/SoC boards.

Proven experience with Intel (Arria/Stratix) and AMD Xilinx (Zynq Ultrascale+, RFSoC).

Strong skills in schematic design using OrCAD, Altium, or Mentor DxDesigner.

Expertise in high-speed serial standards: PCIe, SerDes, Ethernet, AXI, JESD, USB, MIPI.

Strong DDR4/DDR5 design experience and clock tree/PLL analysis.

Deep knowledge of SI/PI, impedance control, and return-path engineering in multilayer PCBs.

Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.

Strong understanding of power supply design, sequencing, and thermal considerations.

Experience with PCB stack-ups, HDI/UHDI, high-reliability component selection.
