Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures across all oilfield and gas operations, ensuring compliance with UAE regulations and international standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard identification studies, developing and implementing effective control measures to mitigate potential risks specific to oil and gas activities.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence, with a focus on learnings specific to the Emirati context.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs tailored to the needs of Emirati workforce and operational requirements, fostering a strong safety culture.
- Monitor and evaluate HSE performance through regular inspections, audits, and data analysis, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert HSE advice and guidance to operational teams, ensuring safe work practices and promoting a proactive safety mindset amongst the Emirati workforce.
- Manage and maintain HSE documentation, records, and reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, contractors, and stakeholders on HSE matters, representing the company's interests and ensuring effective communication.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, conducting drills and exercises to ensure preparedness for various scenarios relevant to the UAE.
- Promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility, actively engaging with Emirati employees to foster a proactive and participatory approach to HSE.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent international HSE certification is mandatory.
- Preference is given to Emirati Nationals, demonstrating a commitment to local talent development.
- Fluent in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication across all levels.
- Proven expertise in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant UAE HSE regulations, codes of practice, and international standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
