Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the preparation, review, and approval of all instrumentation engineering deliverables, including datasheets, specifications, layouts, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, I/O lists, and cable schedules.
- Develop and review project-specific instrumentation design philosophies, standards, and procedures in line with client and industry requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, ISA, API).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (process, mechanical, electrical, control systems, piping, and civil) to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems.
- Review vendor documentation for instrumentation packages, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Conduct technical evaluations, clarifications, and vendor bid assessments for instrumentation equipment and systems.
- Manage and guide junior instrumentation engineers and designers, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion of work.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, SIL studies, and constructability assessments.
- Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor selection.
- Ensure instrumentation deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Provide technical support during project execution, including responding to RFIs and resolving engineering queries.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1215 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with substantial exposure to onshore oil and gas projects.
- Proven track record in Engineering phase activities (FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Detailed Design).
- Strong knowledge of international and client-specific instrumentation codes and standards.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., SPI/INtools, AutoCAD, SmartPlant Review).
- Experience in preparing MTOs, equipment specifications, and requisitions for all major instrumentation systems.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- ADNOC or other major Middle East client experience.
