Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Product Innovation Legal Support: Collaborate with product, sales, and marketing teams to provide legal counsel for the development and launch of Commercial Solutions offerings in the B2B and travel payments space.
Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Lead on drafting and negotiating complex agreements across issuers, vendors, and partners including customer-facing contracts and strategic technology deals.
Cross-Functional Risk Management: Work with internal and external experts in regulatory, data privacy, compliance, and IP to guide business stakeholders through legal risk areas and frameworks.
Commercial Advisory: Advise business leaders on contractual obligations, legal interpretations, and risk analyses related to new solutions and market expansion.
Legal Governance: Ensure consistent application of internal policies and provide legal training to commercial teams.
Manage relationships with external counsel efficiently and within budget.
Strategic Legal Projects: Take initiative on special legal projects that align with business innovation, regulatory alignment, or process optimization.
What They're Looking For
Extensive Legal Experience: A qualified lawyer with significant experience, preferably including in-house counsel in the financial services or technology sector.
Payments & Banking Knowledge: A strong working knowledge of commercial banking, payments systems, and the regulatory environment is highly desirable.
Tech-Savvy Legal Mindset: Proven ability to navigate complex technology contracts, understand data privacy, and manage intellectual property matters.
Commercial Acumen: Strong business judgment, negotiation skills, and the ability to deliver clear legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
Global Perspective: Experience working on cross-border deals and international legal frameworks, with a comfort in operating across time zones and jurisdictions.
