Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Treasury
- In collaboration with the Senior Director, defines and implements the company s funding strategy
- Support in debt origination, facility agreement negotiation, execution and loan compliance. Manage relationship with external lawyers as applicable.
- Oversee the day-to-day liquidity of the organisation, including cash flows, bank balances; investment in short term fixed deposits
- Establishes and manages the relationship with banks, financial institutions, lenders, government related entities and investors
- Ensures an optimum management of the working capital, including frequent communication to senior management of DWTC s working capital positions and liquidity
- Reviews and reports on cash forecasts and actual expense monitoring, for review and endorsement by Senior Director and CFO; in addition to macroeconomic data (interest rates, FX, GDP, and other economic statistics)
- Keeping abreast of market trends to ensure that the organisation adheres to the highest standards of Treasury and Liquidity Management
- Responsible for the optimisation of the cashflow forecast and automation/optimisation of other treasury functions
- Execute the collection, issuance and monitoring of Performance Bonds related to requests for the Business Units customers
- Execute the issuance and monitoring of Credit Limits and Credit Facilities related to requests for the Business Units customers
- Execute and coordinate contractor capex payments with the Real Estate and Contracts Management Groups; as related to debt financings & funding
- Support all treasury related requirements for any new line of business/project of DWTC including Escrow management
Commercial and Real Estate
- Work with RE and Planning and Budgeting team in analysing feasibility and viability studies; in relation to financial control. Initiate valuations of investment properties for financial reporting.
- Work with projects team on review of project budgets and feasibilities. Review and evaluate project budget to ensure that they have been worked on a consistent basis and in accordance with the underlying business assumptions, plan objectives, and corporate instructions.
- Review the plans and budgets for the relevant Real Estate projects, at the required level of granularity
- Review reports for the relevant Real Estate projects on the control of the overall project costs as they relate to budgeted amounts and their impact on project profitability and cash flows
- Review, identify and manage finance and accounting issues that impact Real Estate project performance
- Review payment applications from contractors, in line with the contractual terms and internal procedures of DWTC, to ensure accuracy of payments processed.
- Setting and monitoring of the annual Corporate Capex budget in conjunction with the business units
Governance and Process Management
- Collaborate with the Business Units, IT and other stakeholders to drive efficiencies, automation and optimization of key treasury processes
- Address and drive closure to issues pertaining to Internal and Government Audit, if any
- Review key contracts from Risk Management perspective to protect the interest of DWTC. Additionally review tenders (as applicable) to ensure governance in the process.
- Develop and implement appropriate strategies to ensure compliance with DWTC credit policies
- Analyse and report on compliance with credit policy and recommend action to rectify where appropriate
- Manage all external treasury reporting and ensure compliance with required regulatory and professional standards
- Facilitate, contribute and review the DWTC annual budget and corporate plan process as required
Stakeholder (Organizational) Management and Leadership
- Ensure customer satisfaction by proactively addressing concerns/issues and requests from Business Units
- Participate in Business Units initiatives which will impact the Finance Department
- Engage with Business Units on a periodic basis to solicit feedback on the quality of Finance service delivery and understand and address challenges, if any
- Provide guidance and development to assigned staff and encourage individual development
- Proactively takes steps/ action required in ensuring adherence to service levels for the section including putting in place/driving actions required to bring service levels back in line (if required)
Desired Candidate Profile
Formal Education
- University master s degree or equivalent professional qualification required
- CA/CPA/CMA/CFA (or equivalent) required
Work Experience
- 7-10 years' experience
- Treasury and corporate finance or investment banking is a must
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and relevant laws
- Proven experience working under tight deadlines and prioritizing workload accordingly
- Track record of originating and executing debt financings is a must
Skills & Knowledge
- Excellent English skills oral and written
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent MS Office Skills
